When I clicked on the thumbnail, I seriously thought this was a photograph. Even when you zoom in and see the dense precision of the paint strokes, it still looks so eerily real.

Where can I buy this? Like right now?

It looks a little bit like Matterhorn... But anyway this art is undoubtedly brilliant. :)

As a swiss person, I feel obliged to say that this looks exactly like our Matterhorn.

... sorry about that. Just wanted to say that your work is awesome, actually. :)

the textures are really nice with the brush strokes, your color choice is fantastic. the background just seems a little off, nice work though!

I absolutely failed with the background, I know. I was fed up with the painting and wanted to finish it asap... well, that is what you end up with if you do that. Well, thanks for liking it anyway! :)

there's nothing wrong with using lovely real mountains as reference of course, but if you want to make them a fantasy mountain and not a real mountain, you may want to change the shape a little bit more :)

I think if it had been any other mountain you would have been fine! That's just one of the most obviously recognizeable peaks I have ever seen, I think it was imprinted into my brain in 2nd grade or so ;) and I've hardly even been out of the US and certainly never to europe. Its vastly more recognizeable to me even than some of my local peaks such as Mt Ranier or even Mt St Helens. But of course that doesn't change that its a lovely picture!

Thanks. I can give you a few basic hints:
1) use brushes with hard edges, no soft-edged ones!
2) work with as high a resolution as your hardware permits (this painting was done at 6000px X xxxxxpx
3) use refrence for mountains / rockstructures
I hope I could be of help to you.
